The best villa we've rented! We and four other families, with kids aged 2-15, spent a fantastic week at El Cachete in August 2013. The welcome pack of food and drink was amazingly generous, and Molly - Jim's daughter - an attentive and helpful contact.
El Cachete feels very isolated among its olive groves, but is only 10 minutes from the autovia. The property is based around two large courtyards; one contains a well-tended garden and a large dining area which easily accommodated 20 of us. The other has the best pool we've ever encountered of the three similar lets we've had in Italy and Spain. Very large, clean and well maintained, and surrounded by covered terraces which were great in the intense Andaluz heat. The table tennis table is good quality and got plenty of use too.
At the rear of the property, and close to the kitchen, is another outside dining area, which we used at breakfast and lunch - again, easily big enough for us all.
The kitchen is pretty professional, and well designed for cooking large meals. Friend of the family Carmen came in one night and cooked us an amazing paella - really good value, and loads of it.
The bedrooms are plenty adequate, the en suites clean. The pick of the rooms has a lovely outside staircase down to the pool. There were enough bedrooms to give the kids flexibility over where to sleep. We loved - the kids less so - the absence of wifi. It felt like a real get-away, and we wished it had been available for the full 2 weeks of our holiday instead of just one.

A lovely house, where we stayed for a week, with the children and grandchildren to celebrate Christmas. The house is not far from the highway, between olive trees and can be heated well in the evening. Too bad the week was over so quickly.

El Cachete is a traditional rustic beautiful accomadation. Jim and Mary the owners make you very welcome, nothing is to much trouble.
The pool area is superb,Huge beautiful swimming pool with lots of shade, seating and hammocks so you can enjoy the sun and relax .
The wonderful Philippa came giving the best massages , facials and treatments , she was the best and we had her return 4 times as she was so popular. I feel relaxed just thinking about my back massage !!
The property is very secluded and perfect for groups who don't want to worry about making noise and disturbing neighbours. You definitely need a vehicle as there is no where in walking distance. Grenada is a hour away, Malaga town a hour away, Seville is 2 hours. There is a huge lake with cafes a beach and canoe and paddle boat hire 30 mins drive away.
In a beautiful setting, with lovely views of the mountains of Andalucia. Very spacious, even with a large group theres enough nooks and crannies to find some peace. Well decorated with all the ameneties you could need, even a piano. Highlight was the courtyard swimming pool. Horse riding nearby in the olive groves, shop couple of minutes away by car. Highly recommend, wish i was still there..........

We were lucky enough to spend a week at El Cachete in June this year on a wonderful rejuvenating yoga retreat. This amazing villa is simply but tastefully furnished, with all the facilities you could want for including an incredible swimming pool. But more than that it feels so immediately homely and welcoming as well as perfectly peaceful and tranquil. Jim and his daughter Molly were on hand to welcome us and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the week. I can't recommend highly enough. Add a large helping of beautiful Spanish sunshine and you have the recipe for a perfect holiday.
