A traditional Spanish Farmhouse

El Cachete is a beautiful renovated farmhouse, located in the heart of the Andalusian countryside, but with easy access from Malaga airport (1 hour away by car). The Cortijo is situated in 80 acres of land planted with olive groves and Spanish oak, and has no immediate neighbours.

The Cortijo has 11 guest bedrooms (with en-suite bathrooms), and 2 additional bedrooms (with shared bathrooms). Three of the bedrooms have balconies (west facing). The maximum capacity of the house is 20 people (including guests and any members of the staff), though the ideal number for comfort is 15 guests.

The property has a large (20 m) pool situated in a walled enclosure, and a courtyard garden, with a back terrace offering dining areas with sunset views over the hills.

The kitchen is fully equipped with 10 hob burners, 2 ovens, 2 fridges, a microwave, triple sinks and a dishwasher.  There is a large selection of pans and cooking equipment. There is also a barbeque and an authentic wood fired pizza oven on the terrace.

There are two separate living rooms within the house; the larger main sitting room has a film projector (to be used only under request and supervision), a grand piano, an open log fireplace and a bar area. 

Please note: as a 150 year-old building, the accommodation is rustic and comfortable, but not luxury, and has some of the idiosyncrasies one might expect of a building this age. We make every effort to make the Cortijo as eco-friendly as possible - our water is sourced from our own well and we have solar panels to heat the water. We separate and compost our own waste. The house is naturally ventilated (for ecological and architectural reasons we DO NOT have air conditioning) there are small fans in each room.

Below is a detailed description of the layouts of the rooms:

Rooms 1 - 5 (located in the guest wing) all with private bathroom. Room 1: one double bed or two single beds, on the ground floor. Room 2: one double bed and a single bed or three single beds, on the ground floor. Room 3: one double bed or two single beds, on the first floor. Room 4: one double bed, on the first floor. Room 5: one double bed, on the first floor.

Rooms 6 - 10 (located facing onto the courtyard - available from April to end October) all with private bathrooms and small double beds.

Room 11 (Master): one double bed with two extra single beds, with private bathroom and balcony, it also has direct access to the swimming pool.

Interior (staff) rooms with a shared bathroom. Room 12: King size bed, with private toilet; Room 13: (Dormitory): Up to three single beds. *The staff bedrooms have a little sitting room and an independent entrance from the gardens.
